A few weekends ago we packed up and moved our offices to 561 West 200
South. We're still near the downtown area, but lunch choices have
greatly improved. We're only a half a block from the new Gateway
development and across the street from a new cafe. You can park right on
the street in front of the office (no meters) and walk in the ground
floor front door.
Not unlike our former office, it's another cool old building but with a
new interior. We've got room to grow with 3,200 square feet and a loft
bedroom Randall's son claims he's going to live in during the summer.
(Fat chance.) Our phone, fax and emails remain the same. Stop by and
check it out, although there's still a few things to finish before the
open house party.

In case you missed out on the last eNews, modern8 is the new
name for some old faces. Randall Smith (a very old face) of
Smith Sligting Partners, is the Creative Director, together
with a team of employees that go back as many as seven years.
modern8 is the modern name for a company that has a lot of
experience, but doesn't want to call attention to names. We're
graphic designers that work in both traditional and new media
to solve communication and marketing problems.

The latest Yescozette for Young Electric Sign Company is off
the press in record time. The issue is a regular occurrence for
customers and employees of YESCO and shows off the recently
completed Las Vegas Bally's spectacular on the cover. New signs
throughout the western United States were featured in the
oversize 11" x 14" publication. modern8 not only designs, but
also directs the photography, writing and printing for each
issue.
A few years ago, YESCO gave each of their top-ranking
salespeople a leather bomber flight jacket. We just designed
the fourth in an annual series of embroidered patches for the
jacket that commemorate YESCO sales incentives. Other projects
recently completed include a leasing capability brochure and
the annual custom employee birthday card.

A translucent envelope and an engaging headline bring
attention to the direct mail solicitation for Becden Dental
Laboratories. The message and design both position Becden
as the leading supplier of aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry
solutions to doctors nationwide. modern8 also completed the
Becden Bridge, a newsletter for customers, and has nearly
finished a new web site. Each marketing vehicle, whether
print or interactive, follows a consistent corporate
identity program that reinforces the brand and keystone
message.
Keeping with our holiday tradition of producing a T-shirt
for our clients, the new Eight Man T-shirt is available in
three different colors: navy blue, forest green and royal
blue. The symbol only is printed on the front of shirts in
the familiar yellow. If you're a client, but haven't
received your T-shirt, call us. If you're not a client,
cool T-shirts are just one of the reasons you should
be.
Without giving up the visual equity in an existing logo,
modern8 re-designed the identity of Furst Construction
Company. The basic elements of the old logo were not lost
in the transformation to the new identity. Viewers will
recognize the new logo as a fresh, modern approach, but
they still recognize that it belongs to Furst--an
important consideration to a company that has been in
business for 28 years. The new corporate identity has been
applied to everything from business cards to T-shirts and
mugs.
The new look will next show up in a comprehensive proposal
binder and format that is now in progress. Furst will use
the binder to introduce themselves to potential clients.
