Inspired by mosaic street identifications in the New York City subway, modern8 Creative Director Randall Smith suggested the same medium for the brand identification of Louise Fishman and Wayne Geary. The two local artists have formed Studio 768 to designate and promote their combined talents in commissioned art for public environments. Wayne created the mosaic from a typographic design produced by modern8. It was then photographed and used as a symbol for the studio. Applied to stationery and business cards the trademark creates a unique statement of what they do and who they are. Promotional materials for the studio are now in progress.

The prestigious Harvard Business Review outlined 10 breakthrough ideas that are changing the way business is done. In idea #9, "The MFA Is the New MBA", Daniel H. Pink offers the following:

Businesses are realizing that the only way to differentiate their goods and services in today's overstocked, materially abundant marketplace is to make their offerings transcendent-physically beautiful and emotionally compelling.... Just listen to auto industry legend Robert Lutz. When Lutz took over as chairman of General Motors North America, a journalist asked him how his approach would differ from his predecessor's. Here's what he said: "It's more right brain.... I see us being in the art business. Art, entertainment, and mobile sculpture, which, coincidentally, also happens to provide transportation." More


UI Mailer

Utah's official connection to online government, Utah Interactive, has created a suite of online tools for the state's legal profession. These powerful resources provide web-based access to information such as Business Entity searches, Uniform Commercial Code filings, Professional Licensee lookup and other services to help make life easier for attorneys and their offices. Springing out of the branding and identity services we completed earlier, we created a direct mail and trade advertising campaign to help inform the legal industry about the resources. The pocketknife metaphor draws attention to the multiple legal tools available online. The mailer both asked for, and generated suggestions from the legal industry for new online resources to expand this service.
