Gallery Stroll occures the third friday of every month and allows you the opportunity to view exibiting art all
along the Wasatch front. Be sure to drop by the modern8 Gallery while your stolling.
Artists with a unique point of view and an interest in gallery exhibitions are encouraged to contact

The month of April brings showers, but it also brings new artists.
This month we are pleased to present two local artists, James Shuman
and Ben Howell.
James Shuman uses oil, acrylic and metallic paints to create large vibrant
works that give insight into his life. His work expresses both a visual
spontaneity and a methodical process. The subject contains a great deal
of mystery and is meant to take you on a journey that isn't revealed. James
has been inspired by many modern artists including Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson
Pollack and Robert Brown.
Benjamin Howell is a multi-disiplinary artist currently studying Sculpture
at the University of Utah and will Graduate this spring with a B.F.A. His
current body of work is rooted in the amalgamation of fresh reactions to
traditional techniques and practices in screen printing and drawing. From
the levels of consciousness to the overlapping concurrence of techniques,
layers and process are the evolving themes in this body of work. The screen
prints in this series all begin with an initial image and hundreds of subsequent
responses to this initial phase are planted, pressed and rooted out again,
creating layers of voice and response.
In addition to these two artists, we still have work on display by Randall Smith,
