This month we have two new artists exhibiting their work at the modern8 Gallery.
Martin Mendelsberg, a visiting international artist, and Peder Singleton, a local
letterpress artist.
Martin Mendelsberg's exhibit, "Holocaust Portfolio," displays a number of digital
images using photographs and prayers recited by the Jews before their demise in
the death camps. His inspiration came six years ago when he discovered a dusty
old album of family photographs taken in Poland between 1919 and 1933. Click here
to find out more information and view images.
Peder Singleton uses diverse typographic forms from Utah's urban landscapes.
"Signs, walls and billboards--along with every other printable surface--beg for
attention with their tattooed messages. During my final year of design school,
I could not escape the beauty of these type elements. I photographed hundreds
of examples in and around Salt Lake City. As I experimented with digital tools
to manipulate the photos, I focused on translating full-color photography into
one-, two-, and three-color prints." Click here to find out more information
and view prints.
In addition to these two artists, we still have work on display by Randall Smith,
Paul Heath, and others. Please visit our artist page for more information.

If you haven't been to our office, you may not know that we're very near the
art gallery district of the emerging west downtown area. Not only that, but
we've got these great, white walls with 13' ceilings and hey -- aren't we
artists too? Drop by on Gallery Stroll night, February 18, 6:00 - 9:00 PM
for exhibits by local and international artists. You can visit our webpage to
find out more information about the Gallery or exhibiting artists.
