Shawn Johnson has joined modern8 and formed the Visual Merchandising Group to bring retail services together with branding and design under one roof. The Group provides visual merchandising, store presentation, layout and brand consulting through design, technology and trend identification.

Shawn has numerous career successes in the field. Starting as a regional visual merchandiser for The North Face, Shawn built his career to become the national manager of 70 locations for NordicTrack/Icon Health & Fitness. His professional portfolio includes diverse areas of expertise, including execution of retail merchandising strategies, leadership and training skills and wholesale buying and budgeting. An innovator by nature he has worked and managed projects for well-known national and regional companies from Park City Mountain Resort to Powerfood, Inc. and Gart Sports.

"We are different, and that is by design." So begins the opening paragraph to the Dunn Associates, Structural Engineering website. Ron Dunn, president of Dunn Associates, believes that engineering is a creative activity that spawns more answers than questions. He wanted a website that not only reflected his "different" dictum but also served as a working tool for the company.

The Projects, People and Case Studies sections of the website can be used to assemble and print proposals for clients of Dunn Associates. The site also features 360-degree virtual reality panoramas of the Dunn offices, which are likewise "different by design".

The Dunn website graphics combine illustrations of interior spaces and photographs using animated Flash technology. Designed and programmed by modern8, the website reflects the brand position of Dunn Associates as a forward-thinking, progressive firm. The site is at: www.dunn-se.com.

Chinese Take Out, Dine In

Szechuan Menu

Szechwan Chinese Kitchen, the Park City restaurant for which we designed an award-winning logo last year is doubling in size. With the remodel, we designed new menus, from take out to dinner. The dinner menu has blind embossed, see-through covers and a unique stick binding, allowing for future changes while contributing to the look and feel.

In-progress projects include updates to three websites we designed: KEPCO+, CRS Retails Systems, and Associated Brigham Contractors as well as the next issue of the Yescozette, the quarterly publication of Young Electric Sign Company. / Justin Milo, modern8 interactive programmer/designer has returned to the office from a three month working vacation. Fortunately he's had his laptop with him throughout his Chicago, New York, Philadelphia junket.
